Maybe you’ve seen some snapshots on Twitter or Instagram already, but this weekend I was abducted by Joppe. As a total surprise he took me to the Sächsische Schweiz! This national park was on top of my Germany-wishlist for a long time and to be taken there during wintertime seemed the perfect moment. The falling snow made the impressive mountains even more extraordinary and my camera was my best travelbuddy this weekend. Please join me while I take you along.
The Sächsische Schweiz is a big national park that starts just below Dresden and crosses the border with the Czech republic. It is mostly known thanks to its imposing, grey rock formations, the Bastei-bridge and Fort Köningstein.
To be honest: a couple of years ago I’d have murdered someone who took my to a national park by surprise. But ever since we live in Berlin and we have our friend Scot, I seem to enjoy it more and more. The peace and green around you, for once no noises and finally a real dark, star-filled night sky, it’s a nice variety to the busy city life I love so much.
