Hotel Modez is a true catch for Arnhem. The hotel exudes fashion, style and quality and above all has one of the finest bars in the city: Caspar!

When we still lived in Arnhem we used to joke sometimes that we would spend the night in Hotel Modez when we had a couple of drinks at Caspar. But since our house was just down the street, less than a two minute walk, it seemed a bit exaggerated. And then we moved to Berlin and Arnhem became our home for a weekend in The Netherlands. A perfect excuse to finally sleep in Hotel Modez.

The hotel opened its doors in 2012 and was created from a collaboration with Piet Paris. It is located in the heart of Arnhems Fashion Quarter and has 20 rooms available, all in completely different styles. A number of Dutch fashion designers, including Francisco Benthum, Spijkers & Spijkers, Viktor & Rolf and (of course) Piet Paris got the chance to create and design a room.

We’ve spend the weekend in the room of designer Bas Kosters. Kosters is wellknown for his extravagant fashion and as one would expect the room fits perfectly with his style. It’s a true eyecatcher thanks to the ‘friends for your night’ who hang on the walls. “Bas Kosters doesn’t like to be alone. In this room he made it a bit less hard with drawings on the walls and life-size dolls in bright colors, it’s really a room to cheer you up.”

I would recommend Modez to anyone who wants to spend a night in Arnhem. The location is perfect with all the hotspots nearby, the rooms are a true work of art and the service is excellent. I know where we will be staying when we go back home for a weekend!
