Of course we spent a big part of our summer in China, but we also had a couple of chaotic weekends in Berlin. Days that we spent non-stop on Tempelhof, weekends filled with visitors from Holland, who we also paid a visit when we came back ‘home’ for a week. This is probably the last Days in Berlin of this year, without winter coats and warm scarfs.
We had a lot of happy days on Tempelhof this summer. With ánd without grill but always with good food and nice wine, chilling in the sun, with on the background nice music to emphasize the summer feeling a bit more.
Something that I immediately think about when I think of the summer is canoeing don’t ask. And it seems like a little miracle, but we found out you can do that in Berlin! It was so much fun to cruise around the Landwehrcanal in a canoe!
We discovered a new Chinese restaurant in Mitte:
I took Laura to Teufelsberg for a new boost of street-art.
Afterwards we walked through the Bülowstraße. It might not be your favourite street at night but during the day it is amazing! The street is often decorated with nice, colourful art in collaboration with Urban Nation.
Look how pretty she is! After millions of dinner dates discussing thé day, it was finally there and Marjolein and Kai were getting married! < insert wedding icon >
Short after I went back to Holland for my annual farmsleepoverparty.
It’s being more and more Pinterest-worthy but secretly I like that even more! This year was the first edition of the outside cinema and that will definitely be returning next year!
When we go back to Holland we always eat the food that we don’t really eat in Berlin, oysters are one of those yummy feast-meals I just need to have when we are back home.
At the beach
Back in Berlin it was time for my favourite: Umami
And we discovered a new beergarten: Emils Biergarten. It’s located between Prenzlauerberg en Pankow and a good alternative for the always busy and touristic Prater Beergarten.
Berliner Str. 80
Sobre has decorated a lot of Berlin walls with new dancing Berliners. Especially Kreuzberg has gotten a lot of his new art.
Nothing wrong with the standard scenery?
I finally visited Holzmarkt and will spend the biggest part of next summer on this new favourite place. Amazing!
Oh and the best thing I discovered this summer: FES Turkish BBQ. The.best.ever!
Berlin was its pretty amazing self again this summer and those three weeks in China really made it into a summer I’ll never forget. But there is one big advantage of the autumn: I can finally spend days and days at home, on the couch, blogging and watching Netflix without feeling guilty. So be aware, new blogs are coming up!
