The first edition of my favourite Berlin hotspots was a huuuge succes and they still belong to my all-time favourites (shout-out to Ungeheuer), but it was about time for a second part. Edition two features a couple of my favourite places to celebrate summer in Berlin, with my favourite ice cream shop and a beer garden, but of course I’ll also show you a couple of amazing restaurants!

Berlijn hotspots tips

  • Jones Ice Cream

Jones has been one of my favourite places in Berlin for a while now. This ice cream shop doesn’t only serve delicious homemade ice cream but serves it in a-ma-zing homemade cones. And oh.my.god. those are exquisite! Jones Ice Cream has a shop in Schöneberg but can also be found on different foodmarkets and every thursday on Street Food Thursday in Markthalle Neun.

  • Lode & Stijn

Lode & Stijn was on my wishlist for a while, and what was a better moment to finally visit them than during our 8-year anniversary? Lode & Stijn is called after its two owners, Lode and Stijn. The two Dutch guys opened the modern bistro several years ago and serve smaller dishes to share (bitterballen!) and a chef’s menu. Feel like something special? Order the 5-course menu and combine it with the wine pairing for an incredible evening.

  • 1000 Grad

1000 Grad is this years’ surprise. The restaurant, located on the not-so charming Kurfürstendamm, serves delicious Asian tapas. Small dishes to share, choose fish or meat or one of their several amazing vegetarian dishes. Oh and those cocktails… to die for! Read more about 1000 Grad on The Boho Guide.

  • Da Jia Le

Ever since we visited China (note to self: there are still several blogposts in my concept-folder) I’m addicted to Chinese food. And I mean réal Chinese food, not that cheesy take-away stuff but the one where you share millions of dishes with friends and eat until you burst. And believe it or not, but one of the best Chinese restaurants, Da Jia Le, can be found only a 5 minutes walk from our house. So it is quite an understatement to say that that’s a match made in heaven.

  • Birgit & Bier

The reader that has been around for while, probably recognises Birgit and Bier as it was also a part of my 5 favourite beer gardens in Berlin-post. But because summer has started, it’s about time to share it once again. It is the perfect place to spend a summer afternoon.
